Faith Formation is our biggest youth ministry program involving the greatest number of youth on a regular basis.  (Some people call it "CCD", "religious education" or "catechism class."  Since those terms can be a little outdated and confusing, we prefer to call it Faith Formation.)

The biggest component of our Faith Formation Program would be our small groups.  Continuing the faith formation classes from Children's Ministry, kids meet in small groups during the school year with two cleared adults and other grade level kids (e.g. 6th graders with 6th graders).  They continue to meet in faith formation small groups through 10th grade when most of them get confirmed.

Registration form and information can be retrieved by clicking here.  The medical release must all accompany the registration form and can be downloaded here.  Middle School students use the Faithfirst curriculum developed by Resources for Christian Living (a national company based here in Allen).  They cover the basics of the Catholic faith while learning how to apply those teachings to their everyday lives.  Confirmation preparation is a two year process and begins in 9th grade.  The focus of the 9th grade year is "Morality - Life in Christ".  The focus of the 10th grade year is "Confirmation - Life in the Spirit".

In addition to being in regular small groups, each class does at least one service project each year (6th-10th grade).  On top of this, all students attend the Getaway Retreat in their 9th and 10th grade year.

All of this helps prepare students for Confirmation and a lifetime of spirituality!  As we always tell the kids, Confirmation is a beginning, not an ending.  It is not graduation from the Church.  It is really the beginning of a fuller, deeper relationship with God and their faith community.
